Winter has finally arrived in Prince Edward County, and we have been enjoying a pristine blanket of snow covering the vines, bright January sunshine and the steely winter colours of Lake Ontario. Around the cellar, the 2015 vintage is settled into barrel and tank for the winter; already the wines are tasting fantastic. Soon we will be readying the aromatic whites for bottling in the early spring.
Despite the slower pace of life around The County this time of year, there is still much to experience both at the winery and throughout the region. The tasting room continues to be open Monday through Saturday 10am-5pm. Now is the perfect time to spend an afternoon tasting wines or touring the cellar. Visitors can also experience a beautiful cross-country ski through Sandbanks Provincial Park, a snow shoe at Macaulay Mountain Conservation Area, or even ice fishing on the Bay of Quinte. Winter in The County is not to be missed!
We look forward to welcoming you at the winery this winter and helping you to select the perfect bottle to enjoy at home, preferably with good friends in front of a crackling fire.
