It’s hard to believe that September is already knocking at our doors. The grapes are currently changing colours (veraison), reminding us that harvest is just around the corner. Our team has been hard at work getting ready for this new vintage and all of our 2015 wines are now out of barrel and ready for bottling.
County Pinot Noir 2014: rave reviews and LCBO release
Our 2014 County Pinot Noir 2014, which just last week was featured in Decanter by Steven Spurrier, is released in LCBO VINTAGES this weekend. This is a very limited release and it will fly off the shelves, so I strongly encourage you to grab your bottles quickly.
“I recommended the 2012 of this wine in Decanter’s August 2015 issue and the 2014 is even better. The depth of Pinot fruit from this cold limestone soil is to be much admired. 93” – Steven Spurrier, Decanter
Chardonnay 2014: now available online and at the winery
I’m excited to finally share with you this new vintage of our Niagara-grown Chardonnay. 2014 was a challenging growing year, but the results of a cooler spring and long warm fall are impressive. This wine offers rich flavours, complex aromas and lively acidity. Fresh citrus flavours give which way to layers of minerality, light brioche notes from extended lees contact and a lingering finish. A wine ready to enjoy now that can also be cellared for 4 to 6 years.
Keep you eyes peeled for our next newsletter, we will be announcing the date of our annual communal picking day. Hopefully we will see you there.
