As the sun moves slowly north, we are preparing for another busy season in the fields and in the winery. With winter and very cold temperatures behind us, the 1st major task is unburying close to 80,000 vines that were buried in the fall for winter protection. I am delighted to be welcoming back our dedicated Thai vineyard crew and a great number of returning employees from past years. It is going to be a great summer!!
Awards, News and Events

> Our County Chardonnay 2016 (available online and at the winery only) has just taken the coveted Judges’ Selection Award at the 2019 Texsom International Wine Awards. This win was closely followed by a silver for our Chardonnay 2016 (available In Vintages LCBO). Both wines are a testament to the diligent hard work of my team in the fields and cellar as well as the magnificent soils and climate we have in Ontario.

> This Saturday, our viticulturalist Mark Gilbert will be boiling maple sap from his family farm and offering free samples and freshly bottled syrup for purchase. We will be serving county-grown, slow roasted maple pulled chicken on locally baked brioche buns on both Saturday and Sunday. > Just in time for the warm weather, we have just released two unwooded whites: our inaugural Sauvignon blanc as well as our Chardonnay “Sans Barrique” . Both were made in very small quantities using old world and non-interventionist fermentation methods in the cellar. Both wines are available exclusively in select Vintages LCBO stores.

> Looking for a great summer white wine? Our Calcaire 2017 is an ideal go-to “crushable” summer white for the BBQ, with oysters, on the dock, or simply a refreshing glass after work. It is available directly from the winery and in select Vintages LCBO stores.
