The summer season is in full swing at the winery: we are welcoming visitors from near and far each weekend to enjoy a glass of wine, pizza and oysters on the patio! Our wood-fired oven, directed once again this year by pizzaiolo David Mattachioni, is firing every Thursday through Monday 11am-6pm. My team is offering some fantastic new pies to be paired with a glass of our latest wine releases on the patio. Back once again this year are freshly shucked oysters every Sunday; the perfect accompaniment to my mineral driven, crisp Calcaire.
Not to be outdone by the action on the patio, the recent heat spell has really moved the vines along in the vineyard. With berries beginning to set, our thoughts are eagerly turning to this year’s vintage.  My dedicated vineyard team, lead by scrupulous vineyard manager Mark Gilbert, are working long hours to ensure that we continue to grow the highest quality fruit in 2014.
We hope you have a chance to visit us this summer in the county, make sure to check the local calendar for this season’s exciting events. If you are in the Niagara region, join me and some of the world’s greatest wine producers July 18th-20th for the International Cool Climate Chardonnay Conference. Tickets available on-line.
cheers,
Norm
