The full potential of the soils can only be realized with a team of tireless, dedicated and enthusiastic individuals who embrace my vision. Each member of my team brings with them a rich knowledge base and a thirst to learn more and create something special. We all take pride in a desire for greatness.
Norm earned his sommelier certification at the University of Dijon in the late 1980s. After putting this certification to use for Four Seasons Hotel he spent 6 years (12 harvests) apprenticing with some of the best producers of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in both hemispheres. In 2003 he made the leap and put down roots in Prince Edward County.
During the growing season and harvest Norm works tirelessly to ensure that no small detail is missed. On the weekends outside of harvest his gregarious personality moves throughout the winery fluidly directing his staff and making all who enter the winery feel welcome.

Johannes is the glue that holds Norman Hardie Winery together. One of a kind, he is a German accountant with a personality and propensity to roast whole pigs to perfection.
Early Saturday mornings Johannes also crafts delicious artisanal bread from his self-built wood-fired oven. At the winery you will find him between the books, out chopping wood for the pizza oven, and searching for errant wild pigs “needing a home” on a wood fired BBQ.

Erica came to work with us in 2018 and is now our Restaurant Manager. She has 10 years of experience in the Restaurant/Hospitality industry and is a health and fitness enthusiast. She is a certified Joga Coach with Gold Performance Training in Corbyville, Ontario and has completed her Level 2 Dental Assisting Certificate at Niagara College. All professional designations aside, she was born & raised in Stoney Creek, Ontario, but made the journey a few hours east to Belleville 6 years ago and we are glad she did! She is a wife and mother and she loves really great wine, which works out really well considering what we do here!
Margaret is our long-standing bookkeeper and winery momma bear. Whether the books need to be balanced, or you need someone to sort out your life, Margaret is the lady for the job. She is constantly making sense of our organized chaos, shipping out orders to our licensees, making sure our tasting bar and pizza oven systems are in top working order and generally ensuring we run a tight ship.

Mark is a County guy through and through: having grown up on a local farm his knowledge and understanding of the County’s unique soils and growing conditions is second to none. Not only does his day to day include growing exceptional grapes, he also is responsible for the upkeep and functioning of the winery. When not in the fields you may find him telling boisterous stories over a bottle of whisky or “muddin’” in his ’73 Ford pick-up.
