The summer heat has finally arrived and the vineyard is growing before our eyes. It’s been rather challenging for the vineyard crew with all this rain, however their hard fastidious and tenacious work has put us in great shape for the rest of the season to come. Despite the abundance of rain we are very lucky our flowering was miraculously unaffected and the fruit set is amazing.

We have an amazing lineup of new summer releases, perfect for the hot weather. Instead of writing paragraphs and tasting profiles on our new releases, I’ve decided instead to film some short videos on each of the wines. Please click each of the wines to hear my personal take on our 2023 Gamay2023 Riesling2022 Cabernet Franc and 2023 Cabernet Franc Rosé

Our exports continue to do exceptionally well. Our markets in the UK, Japan, and mainland Europe (France, Denmark, Holland, Belgium) are thriving. When top sommeliers around the world consistently say “your wines come from their own place but they taste like wines three times the price from the Old World.” I am certain we are in the best place in the New World to make wine. Time for you to enjoy the finesse, minerality and elegance we can create right here at home.

Our fundraiser for the Tawineyi school was a huge success, raising close to $25,000. Click here to see highlights from this amazing event. As I put Chef Xavier Dehayes on a plane home to Washington D.C., he reminded me that we will be doing this again next year! This will be a highly sought after event next year so please email joey@normanhardie.com to get your name on the list for a spot.

When visiting the County, we look forward to welcoming you! Our tasting bar and pizza oven are open daily until 6pm all summer long. We have an incredible young staff who are eager and enthusiastic to share their knowledge to make sure you have an incredible experience here. Over 80% of staff this year are returning from previous years.

If you can’t make it to the County, we are happy to ship directly from our cellar to your door across Canada including Quebec. Mixed cases are welcomed, and free shipping is available! Click here to visit our online store.

Cheers,

Norm and the incredible Norman Hardie Winery team
