The magnificent 2019 vintage has finally all been pressed and put to barrel for the winter. A very late start to the season meant we ended up picking weeks later than usual. Our amazing Thai vineyard crew stayed an extra three weeks to make sure our vines were tied down properly, often tying down in the snow and well below zero temperatures. Mark and Lou’s tenacious spirit behind the wheels of our tractors ensured our vines are now well protected with soil from an inevitable minus 25 degree cold snap this winter.
We have just released our 2017 County Pinot Noir. Quite possibly our best County Pinot Noir to date, as we always thrive to improve! The wine is available online and has just been released to select Vintages/LCBO stores. A typically light and delicate, silky, beautifully transparent County Pinot here from Hardie, from a vintage that is proving to be far better than first expected, after a challenging season. But tough vintages highlight both the top vineyards and the most competent winemakers, evident in this detailed and finely crafted example. I love the light cranberry and red cherry fruit, pure and refined, the light cinnamon/old oak influence, and the sapid acids and fine length. Delicate and refined all around, enjoyable now, but ultra-stable – two weeks in an opened bottle have barely affected the wine, so cellaring into the mid-late twenties should be risk-free. Tyler and Johannes have once again dug deep into the cellar to put together three different mixed vertical vintage 6 packs. There will be one Pinot Noir six pack, one Chardonnay six pack and a Chardonnay/Pinot Noir combination six pack. All six packs are $300 including tax and are available online or at the winery only. There is very limited availability given a very high proportion of the wines are sourced from back vintages. A great way to compare and contrast different vintages and appellations with friends.

As always we offer free home delivery in Ontario for orders of $90 or more and very fair delivery rates elsewhere in Canada. Mixed cases are welcomed. A number of our wines are also available in select LCBO Vintages stores.
