Summer has finally arrived in Prince Edward County. The vineyard is in impeccable shape thanks to the hard work of Mark, Lou and our incredible vineyard team. We were lucky to miss the late frost in May by half a degree. If the flowering goes well and it stays dry this could be a fantastic vintage for us.
We have not released a Cuvée L Pinot Noir since 2015. Our 2020 vintage of Cuvée L is simply spectacular. This year’s blend is 66% PEC fruit and 33% Niagara. A wonderful combination of the freshness and vibrancy from the limestone-laden soils of the County and the richness of the heavy clay soil in Niagara. A few of my very respected Burgundian lovers have remarked (at a pre-release tasting) that this wine is as close to being in Chambolle-Musigny without actually being there. Available now at the winery and on our online store.
Our 2017 Riesling took top score of all the wines submitted at this year’s Ontario Wine Awards, and was awarded 2023 Wine of the Year. 2017 was the most spectacular year for Riesling. With many wineries having full tanks in Niagara we had the once in a lifetime opportunity to buy lots of the best Riesling fruit grown in the province. We do not have much of this wine left. It is perfect for summer sipping; low 11% alcohol, low sulphur, simply delicious and pure refreshment. Our staff call it the breakfast lunch and dinner wine. Pick yours up now at the winery or through our online store.
Our pizza oven, oyster bar and outdoor patio are now open 7 days a week until 6pm throughout the summer. No reservations are required for tastings or lunch, walk-ins are welcome.
