With the few days of spring over and the near summer-like temperatures, the dedicated vineyard crew are working long hours unburying the 50 000 plus canes prior to bud swell. Despite riding this viticultural fine line each year, the level of anxiety remains high even with such a great crew. Mother nature always has a curve ball up her sleeve!!
With spring rapidly moving into summer, the timing of the release of our 2012 Pinot Gris could not be more perfect. The 2012 Pinot Gris is fresh and vibrant with lovely lemon/lime citrus notes and a wonderful minerality derived from our calcareous rocky soils (available online or winery only). If you are looking for something a little richer, there are a few bottles of our magnificent 2009 Chardonnay in Vintages. The Burgundian centric Japanese market has snapped up the last 70 cases of this wine in one month. Only available in Vintages, completely sold out at the winery.
We will be firing up the oven on weekends and holiday Mondays starting this weekend through till late September/early October. Click here to entice yourself.
Jamie Kennedy (twice in one week…I am not complaining)
Come and sip some wonderful aromatic whites, Chardonnays and Pinots with Charles Baker, Thomas Bachelder and myself tonight at Jamie Kennedy’s “Somewhereness Wine Bar Event”. On May 7th, I will be presenting my current releases at a special Local Food Movement dinner. Promises to be a very special evening.
Terroir in the County
On May 25th, 20 plus County Wineries will be showcasing their new releases under one roof at the annual Terroir Conference.
