With the early arrival of spring came one of the best international reviews we have ever had. I really hope Stephen Tanzer’s review is a positive omen for the 2012 growing season.
Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar is one of the world’s most respected international wine publications. His standards are rigorous and scoring is British “old school scoring” ….not every child in the class gets an A. He recently published a review on Ontario which included a stunning review on Norman Hardie. Four of our wines including both our 2008 Chardonnay Cuvee “L” and 2009 Pinot noir Cuvee “L” wines scored in the 90s (top in their category).
We have always aimed at making old world Burgundian style wines, Tanzer’s report reinforced this by stating in its opening paragraph “His chardonnays and pinots are some of the most Burgundian you will find outside Burgundy”. After reading that my staff said the grin on my face resembled that of a cat who had just caught a mouse.
